We have extensive experience working with independents, studios, financiers, sales companies and distributors in all key territories and with the leading streaming services Netflix, Amazon, Apple and HBO Max.

We provide corporate advice to venture funds, startups and media clients, regularly providing counsel on equity and debt financings, M&A and corporate governance matters in both the UK and the US.  We leverage our deep cross-border transactional expertise to generate value and mitigate risk for our clients. 

Claire has a distinguished background, having been an English solicitor in the London office of SJ Berwin (now King & Wood Mallesons) and Senior Business Affairs Executive at the UK Film Council (now the British Film Institute), where she worked on films including Peter Greenaway’s NIGHTWATCHING, Jane Campion’s BRIGHT STAR and Academy Award Winning documentary MAN ON WIRE, before joining Ingenious Media, one of the UK’s leading investors in media, as Business Development Manager. 

While at SJ Berwin, Claire was seconded to Disney, London where she was responsible for the business and legal affairs respecting acquisitions and productions for Disney-branded TV channels in the UK, Europe and Middle East. In addition to being admitted as an English solicitor Claire has a Post-Graduate Diploma in UK, EU & US Copyright Law from Kings College, London.  Claire studied English Literature at University College London (2:1) and graduated law school from the College of Law, London (Distinction). 

Claire formed CW Media Consulting in 2010 and has since advised on the development, production, finance, sales and distribution of many dramatic and documentary feature films including Todd Solondz’s DARK HORSE, David Riker’s THE GIRL, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated Todd Hayne’s CAROL, Frederick Petitjean’s COLD BLOOD LEGACY, Sebastian Junger’s Oscar nominated RESTREPO, Alex Holmes’ award-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary MAIDEN and the Roald Dahl biopic TO OLIVIA.

Simon is a corporate attorney who, prior to joining CW Media Consulting, was a senior associate in the London and New York offices of leading international law firm Arnold & Porter LLP, and later traded oil futures on his own account.  Simon is dual-qualified, admitted in New York and England, with extensive experience in public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters. Simon advises on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes and joint ventures, and has worked on numerous debt capital market and cross-border transactions. Simon counsels clients from a variety of industries including technology, life sciences and financial services. Simon holds an LL.B. (Hons.) in law from the University of Sussex and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice from The College of Law, London. When not practicing law he enjoys racing motocross and mountain bikes, skiing and snowboarding.
